Welcome to Newburyport Business
Welcome to our new weekly business newspaper which is focused on Newburyport, MA. Newburyport is a thriving business community with a busy downtown retail sector, a growing industrial park, a renowned hospital, quality professional services and dozens of excellent restaurants. There are also hundreds of residents who operate businesses or work for others from their homes. We recognized a need for timely and relevant news and information about our business neighborhood, and here it is.

It was started by us - Gillian Swart, Stewart Lytle and Melanie Wold, three experienced journalists.  We found an excellent web designer in Cindy Barnard, who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in turning these seasoned print journalists' (often unreasonable) visions into a beautiful digital newspaper. Our stunning logo comes from Lunar Studios and the talented Nick Havas. Photographer Meg Manion Silliker at Bluelime Photography made us look downright respectable, against all the odds.

Newburyport Business features current news and in-depth analysis about local commerce. We also offer profiles about CEOs and business managers and companies of interest. While we are committed to being 100% balanced in our reporting, we recognize that some people will have differing opinions on subjects of interest. Therefore we offer the opportunity to comment on each story and hope to create something beyond 'social networking'. Our blog entries reflect our personal opinions and those of our guest bloggers. And you will be able to comment on, disagree with or even applaud each blog.

Our local job listings are just that - local. You will not find some anonymous, faceless employment website when you click on "Jobs" here. These listings are free to employers (unless they want a larger display ad) and we hope they will generate a real give-and-take among our readers and prospective employers in the area.

We are thrilled to be able to work with the Newburyport business community in creating a truly new model in business newspapers. Please feel free to email us or call us with suggestions, complaints or money (advertising - see 'Advertise with us'!).
